On it's own a home made Portuguese Corn Bread isn't that exciting. However this does mark the moment I'm now 20% of my way through the recipes in my bread recipe book. In my cupboard I now have 8 types of flour and 4 different types of sugar.

my coat has a gaping hole in it and all my trousers are falling apart. Can any bread justify taking 4 days to make? I'm currently trying to make a Pain de Campange Rustique. The first part of maknig it is to mix a small amount of whole meal flour with water, then leave it for 2 days. I've had to plan when to make this bread around my rota. Today is the day I turn 10000 days old. I can't remember when I worked this date out, or more to the point why. I'm even slightly doubtful if my calculations I used (and verified with online) used my birthday as day one or day zero. As turning 10000 days old is a fairly uncelebrated anniversary I decided today would be a brilliant day to do a gig with cake and balloons and general merriment.

I went to see Darren Hayman play last night. Failed to get a setlist on the grounds that there wasn't one but I did manage to get a plectrum instead. Further in my breadmaking adventures I today followed a recipi for 'Georgian Khachapuri'. More completed missions in life. I own a laminator. I've wanted one for many many many years and now I do. I can laminate my biography and use it as a poster to promote gigs etc. It also means I can laminate all the set lists i've collected over the years and make them a bit more permanant. This all makes me very happy.
