It's not often I feel need to heap praise on major corporations but last night big industry did several things I was impressed by. Firstly the Chocolate Orange McFlurry at McDonalds. This made by me very happy waiting to get into to see Jen Lekman live as I was stood in the cold and drizzle with doors opening an hour after they should have done. After the concert I went to the toilet at the Train Station. The normal trick here is to use McDonalds as it's free and not pay 20p for the train station ones. However McDonalds was closed due to 'flooding' so paying it was. Inside was this amazing contraption you see pictured. The New Dyson Hand Dryer. You put your hand is and then slowly lift then out whilst an 'air blade' feels like it scrapes all the water from your hands. It means there will no longer be spending ages waiting for normal dryers dry hands again. I want one in my own home. Then continuing the cooperate praise I went to boots for some things. I was advised that the toothbrush I was buying was on a 2 for 1. So at 11pm at night the assistant cheerful went over and spent about a minute looking for another one for me. She was unsuccessful but the fact she tried made me happy.

Not been able to do anything with computer really since last Wednesday. There was a strange burning smell in my room which after going around all the plug sockets on Tuesday evening I couldn't find the source of. I had had heating problems and put it down to the the radiators working again and it was probably burning dust. However I got in from work on Wednesday and turned computer on. Went downstairs to watch Deal Or No Deal and afterwards found the entire electrics had tripped in my bedroom. After fixing that my Computer would not turn back on. All my other electrical equipment would and the PC power supply smelt burnt. After getting my house mate to open it up we established the power supply had blown. I had no idea how to fix a new one so ended up ringing another mate who gave me instructions down the phone on how to remove it and exactly what to buy to fit a new one.
Thursday I went to buy a new power supply carrying the dead one to say to sales assistant, "this is the old one. I need a new one!". I then attempted to fit this myself and it still didn't work. This meant taking PC in taxi across to the other side of Leeds to get mate to look at it and clean all the dust out. So now after working lots I'm finally organised again with a working PC.

I went to see Darren Hayman play last night. Failed to get a setlist on the grounds that there wasn't one but I did manage to get a plectrum instead. He breifly stuck around for the club night after and he answered one of lifes great questions. "If you heard one of your own songs in a club would you dance to it?". The DJ played 'Hymn for the Cigarettes'. He didn't dance.
